April is an experienced member of Moss & Barnett’s family law team, representing clients in a full range of family law matters, including dissolution (divorce) proceedings, paternity, custody and parenting time disputes, child support, spousal maintenance, and the equitable distribution of marital assets and debts. She brings a combination of tenacity and perspective to her practice, possessing the skills to litigate complex cases while also looking beyond parents’ short-term conflicts to help set families up for long-term success.

Prior to joining Moss & Barnett, April clerked for the Honorable Elizabeth V. Cutter in Hennepin County Family Court, gaining invaluable insight into the court’s perspective on family law litigation. This experience shaped her ability to anticipate legal challenges and craft practical solutions tailored to her clients’ unique circumstances.

April has been selected to the Minnesota Super Lawyers/Rising Stars list since 2024. The Minnesota Rising Stars list honors attorneys who have been in practice ten years or less and includes only 2.5% of attorneys statewide, making it a significant accolade. April has also been named to the Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch list since 2025. The Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch list is tailored to attorneys with fewer than ten years in practice and spotlights rising legal talent demonstrating excellence in private practice. In addition to these accolades for her work in private practice, April was named a North Star Lawyer by the Minnesota State Bar Association in 2024 for her dedication to pro bono work.

April serves as a Volunteer Investigator with the Minnesota State Bar Association’s Fourth District Ethics Committee and is a member of the firm's community outreach and philanthropic committee, M&B Cares. She enjoys and has the privilege of teaching first-year law students as an adjunct professor for the University of Minnesota Law School’s Law in Practice course.

For April, family law is more than a career. She finds meaning in guiding clients through periods of uncertainty and change, helping them make informed decisions while providing support and perspective. Clients value her authenticity, empathy, and honesty, as well as her ability to meet them where they are, whether that is offering a sympathetic ear, a clear strategy, a strong courtroom advocate, or even a well-timed joke to lighten a tense moment. April appreciates that the family law process can be difficult, but she wholeheartedly believes it can also be navigated with care, clarity, and respect, setting families up for a healthier, more positive future.
