Moss & Barnett Real Estate Finance Team Expands with Arrivals of Timothy E. Lovett and Atiya Oberoi

Moss & Barnett is pleased to announce the expansion of the firm's Real Estate Finance team with the arrivals of lawyers Timothy E. Lovett and Atiya Oberoi.

Timothy E. Lovett PhotoTimothy E. Lovett works with lenders, servicers, and transactional parties across the country on complex real estate financial matters. Much of his work involves counselling institutional lenders that originate and sell multifamily mortgage loans to Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae and continue to service and manage those loans. Tim is involved in every part of the loan lifecycle, including negotiating loan documents, managing due diligence prior to close, and advising clients on loan operation and compliance with the requirements of Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae programs. Prior to joining Moss & Barnett, Tim served as in-house counsel for a St. Paul-based property development and management company and practiced real estate law in Minneapolis, working with purchasers, sellers, and landlords. He received his J.D., cum laude, from the University of Minnesota Law School, where he served as online editor for the Minnesota Law Review, and his B.A. in Environmental Studies from Knox College.

Atiya Oberoi PhotoAtiya Oberoi represents lenders who originate and sell loans secured by multifamily projects to secondary market investors, including Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. As part of her practice, she prepares and negotiates loan documents, evaluates legal opinions, examines title and survey, and assesses other due diligence to ensure regulatory compliance. Atiya received her J.D. from the University of St. Thomas School of Law and her B.S.B. from the University of Minnesota, Carlson School of Management.
