Employment Law Alert: New Law for All Minnesota Employers

08.19.2019

As of July 1, 2019, Minnesota requires that all Minnesota employers provide a written notice to each new employee regarding various aspects of the employment relationship. The notice must be provided at the start of employment and must be signed by the employee. The notice must include specific non-English options that the employee can select. We have attached a sample form of notice that the Minnesota Department of Labor and Industry has provided in "Related Materials," below, together with a link to the Minnesota Department of Labor and Industry website. The notice could also be incorporated into an offer letter or employment agreement instead. We would be pleased to assist you in implementing this new requirement.
