Leah is a member of Moss & Barnett’s commercial team, with a focus on both real estate and employment law.

Real Estate

With the ultimate goal of ensuring a smooth closing, Leah advises and advocates for clients through all stages of general real estate and commercial real estate finance transactions.

Leah advocates for housing solutions and advises parties about their rights and responsibilities in the landlord-tenant relationship. She also represents both commercial landlords and tenants throughout the leasing process, including negotiating, drafting, and amending commercial leases.

In her multifamily real estate finance practice, Leah represents lenders in both large multifamily projects and in small-balance loan and targeted affordable housing projects. She works in all aspects of real estate finance transactions, including reviewing legal due diligence, identifying and analyzing potential legal issues, negotiating title insurance coverage, and drafting and modifying loan documents. Leah also has extensive experience examining property title, survey, and title insurance matters to avoid or mitigate title issues, as well as facilitate title clean up.

Employment

In her employment law practice, Leah represents employers in an advisory capacity. Leah’s advocacy and advice help employers find meaningful and long-term solutions to problems, without sacrificing the employer’s bottom line or employee relationships. She has experience advising employers of every size on employment law matters, from small rural shops to large, multi-state companies. Leah has extensive experience drafting and revising employee handbooks, as well as working with employers to craft personalized policies to creatively fit their needs.

Outside of private practice, Leah’s background includes work in public policy, mental health and crisis intervention, harm reduction and public health, and early childhood education. Her diverse experience has allowed her opportunities to present at CLEs, speak to law school classes, mentor women law students, and testify in front of legislative committees.
