Drawing on more than 40 years of experience in real estate and commercial law, Jeff listens to the needs and concerns of each client, analyzes alternatives, and crafts creative, cost-effective solutions that deliver value. He has negotiated and documented many complex real estate financing transactions for both lenders and borrowers. Jeff also has extensive experience in workouts and the enforcement of real estate-related remedies, including mortgage foreclosures, receiverships, and assignments of leases and rents.

Additionally, Jeff served as Minnesota counsel in multistate real estate financing transactions and has represented clients in selling, purchasing, and financing real estate in Minnesota and other states. Notably, he represented a major real estate developer in land acquisition, financing of acquisition and development, developer agreements with cities, agreements with builders for the sale of developed lots, the sale of parcels to end users, and other aspects of real estate development.

Experience

  • Represented YMCA of the Greater Twin Cities in the complicated acquisition of space in downtown Minneapolis for innovative new administrative offices and a YMCA branch as well as the sale of former facilities.
  • Represented YMCA of the Greater Twin Cities in the acquisition and assemblage of parcels in St. Louis County for a new family camp.
  • Represented a developer in the acquisition and development of land, including representation before and negotiation of agreements with the city and Watershed District, for a residential subdivision with extensive environmentally sensitive conservation areas in western Hennepin County.
