Is there something about construction contracts that causes more disputes than in other industries? (Aaron Dean discusses with "Reel Lawyers")

Well, you have a lot of people working in a postage-stamp area often times. And so they are working and sometimes living in the dispute. So it’s no surprise that there is quite a few disputes. It seems that he construction industry spawns more disputes than other industries. And the construction contracts really cause some of those problems because they have a lot of potholes written into them by many different people over a course of years and both with privately-drafted construction contracts or with the form contracts that have been published by trade organizations such as the AIA or the AGC or Consensus Docs or the Engineers Joint Council. It seems like there’s a more and higher number of disputes in the construction industry under the contracts than in other industries where I’ve represented clients.
