Family Law Series: The Family Mediator's Best Practice Toolbox
Family law attorneys and judges refer parties to mediators who settle cases. The natural selection of mediators has developed into a particular style of family mediation in Minnesota. This session is not about what is “right” or “wrong” or unique about family mediation as it has evolved in Minnesota. This session explores the ethical boundaries, skills and techniques used by the mediators. A panel of four experienced Minnesota family mediators will discuss the nuts and bolts of what they do and how they do it. Participants will gain insight into the mind of the mediator, and learn skills and techniques to incorporate into their mediation and/or mediation advocacy work.
