William J. Straus, Attorney

Biography

Bill Straus focuses his practice on multifamily and commercial real estate financing transactions. He primarily represents life insurance companies, banks, and other financial institutions in connection with the origination and servicing of mortgage loans secured by multifamily housing projects, retail centers, office buildings, industrial facilities, and other types of commercial real estate. He also advises clients on the closing and sale of loans to agency investors Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae on the secondary mortgage market.

Prior to joining Moss & Barnett, Bill worked in the commercial mortgage lending department of a Fortune 500 company. He received his law degree, with distinction, from the University of Nebraska College of Law and his bachelor’s degree, summa cum laude, from St. Cloud State University. During law school, Bill was a Senior Member of the Nebraska Moot Court Board, received the Business Transactions Certificate, and won the McGrath North Mullin & Kratz Excellence in Legal Writing Award.
