John P. Kennedy, Attorney

Biography

John Kennedy is a member of the firm's multifamily and commercial real estate finance and real estate teams. He primarily represents lenders who originate loans for multifamily housing projects around the country, which loans are then sold to Freddie Mac or Fannie Mae.

Prior to joining Moss & Barnett, John gained extensive experience analyzing real property title, survey, and title insurance matters while a law clerk with the Office of the Hennepin County Examiner of Titles in Minneapolis and five years as Assistant Vice President and in-house counsel for Old Republic National Title Insurance Company. This experience forms a solid base from which he effectively advocates for Moss and Barnett’s lender clients in multifamily and commercial transactions.

John earned his Juris Doctor from William Mitchell College of Law, where he competed in the Rosalie Wahl Moot Court and the New York City Bar Association National Moot Court. He was also a Fellow with the Marshall-Brennan Constitutional Literacy Project in which he taught a semester-long course on Constitutional Law to local high school students. Before attending law school, John studied international studies and French at the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, Minnesota.
